Degas

Inspire par Degas - 2016

My artwork is influenced by the great masters of modernism. Degas in particular drew my attention because of his portrayal of a little dancer. The look on her face is defiant and confident something which I found appealing since most portrayals of women I've seen so far depict women as someone submissive.
By copying and altering the face of the little dancer from that of Degas' I gained a better understanding and appreciation of the process and subsequent gratification one gets after seeing how a simple rendition can take on a prejudiced view of the female identity.
