| Refuge - 2018 |
Loneliness is a major theme in this artwork as it depicts a pensive young girl taking refuge from the outside. Nonetheless, I intended for this artwork to convey a feeling of contemplation by choosing not to completely enclose the subject from the outside. I am of the belief that in hard times one needs to seek refuge in nature and through reflection on its intrinsic beauty gain a new outlook on life. This artwork is one of a series of drawings with a short story on the back of the page. I will comment the story for this particular drawing once I find the sketchbook.
