Gypsy Happiness

Gypsy Happiness (2014) - oil on canvas

Leaning on the one ideal she strives for, peace, the land is barren yet a guardian angel is ever present to console her hardships. The little girl on the background bears a halo for she is no mere mortal but an spiritual presence. The dove looks at her and acknowledges its master. The girl to her right is a representation of the melancholy of her past. With a downcast gaze she is overcome with a tangible feeling of relief.
The painting came about as a response to the escalating feeling of social isolation. When I paint I feel liberated and relieved like the girl depicted above.

Confus

Confus (2016)
Being an engineering student opened my mind to a new previously unexplored creativity. The drawing here depicts a somewhat confused girl with peculiarly strange hand gestures. This is because she is trying to make sense of a fourth dimension by using the "right hand rule" to visualize the axis of rotation of whatever she is examining and with her left hand trying to decipher in what direction it is traveling. In the background the sky is purposely drawn as a collection of curved lines as an attempt to illustrate the infinite configurations of the path she is trying to visualize or perhaps the turmoil of her thoughts trying to figure out something seemingly impossible by mere thought.
